Datta Kriya Yoga
Datta Kriya Yoga is a holistic self-care practice combining breathing exercises, Yogic Asanas, and Mudras to balance life energy. It enhances mental clarity, focus, and emotional stability, while reducing stress and anxiety.
Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji is a living exponent of Datta Kriya Yoga in the lineage of Datta Guru. Datta Kriya Yoga is a science of meditation and a skilful way of living. In other words, Datta Kriya Yoga is the mental process of channelling the pranic (life force) energy to attain the union of the individual Self with the Universal Self. The entire course of actions—beginning at the point of material action and ending with spiritual absorption—is Kriya Yoga.
Sri Swamiji has a profound understanding of Maha Kundalini Yoga. He invokes and draws inspiration from his own mother, Jayalakshmi Maata, a saintly person who was a Master of Raja Yoga and Sree Vidya. Her energy has a profound effect on Sri Swamiji by descent (Saktipaat). Sri Swamiji has been propagating “Datta Kriya Yoga” to seekers in the East and the West since 1966 for their physical, mental and spiritual well-being. It is Yoga for everyone, and encompasses all facets of Yoga! Sri Swamiji has blessed the world with this profound Datta Kriya Yoga knowledge! Datta Kriya Yoga International Center (DKYIC) has taken the onus of sharing the various teachings of Sri Swamiji.
DKYIC formulates courses to suit the fast-thinking and active youth, young adults in a life of challenges, and seniors with struggles of aging, who are all volatile due to stress on account of their lifestyles. To overcome stress and make them confident and to receive the fruits of life, certain Yoga techniques are introduced. The principal factors in the Yogic practice are synchronized with modern scientific details, such as physiology.
Key Components
Datta Kriya Yoga incorporates several yogic practices, including:
- Asanas / Vyayamas: Gentle flow movements, synchronizing breath to open Nadis (the hidden 72000 channels through which Life force / Prana moves through the body) and activate cells, and Yoga postures performed in sitting, standing, or lying positions (can be done with the support of a chair or sitting on a chair)
- Pranayama: Controlled breathing techniques to regulate vital energy
- Mudras (specific hand postures)
- Nadi Shuddhi Vyayama: Techniques to purify the energy channels
- Meditation: Practices designed to quiet the mind and achieve inner balance
- Healing Nada (Music) Sound vibration: Nada is Universal Vibrations that ring in every cell, realigning and reconnecting us to the source.
